W-News | Last Candidate 2020 Olympics | Selection to host the 2020 Olympics has entered the final stages. Madrid, Tokyo and Istanbul has submitted a proposal to be able to roll out the biggest sporting event in the world.
At first there are six cities that bid to host the 2020 Olympics. In addition to Madrid (Spain), Tokyo (Japan) and Istanbul (Turkey) there are Baku (Azerbaijan), Doha (Qatar) plus one other city that decided to quit the Rome (Italy). Tokyo is considered to be the strongest candidate host the 2020 Olympics after a very good assessment of the IOC last year. While Madrid was considered to have the smallest chance because of the financial crisis that hit Spain in recent times.
IOC Evaluation Commission, headed by Sir Craig Reedie, will visit three cities in March with the start of the Tokyo and went to Madrid and Istanbul. The results of the visit will be reported to the IOC in June while the announcement of the winners made a month later. So reported Eurosport.
