W-News | Meteor In Russia Comes From 10 Ton Heavy Meteorite | According to the Russian Academy of Sciences, meteor that fell this morning in the Chelyabinsk region, the Urals, Russia, weighing ten tons.

Russia's interior ministry claimed that the meteorite has resulted in 500 people injured, including 84 children. Most of the victims injured by shards of glass windows of the building, as reported by the site zeenews.india.com, Friday (15/2).

Experts say incandescent rocks that looked burnt in the morning sky was a meteorite. Glowing meteorite that could be seen up to a distance of hundreds of kilometers.

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said the incident was a reminder of the meteorite to the planet Earth.

"I hope there's no serious consequences from the incident. Incident shows not only the economic but also vulnerable our planet," he said at an economic forum held in the Krasnoyarsk region, Siberia today.

U.S. space agency says there is no connection with the asteroid meteor 2012 DA14 predicted to traverse the Earth.
