W-News | Iran Supports 'Solutions' President Assad To End Syrian Conflict | Compact internationally condemned and rejected plans disclosed Syrian President Bashar al-Assad to end the conflict in the region. But the Iranian government expressed support for President Assad.

"The Islamic Republic ... support of President Bashar al-Assad who initiated a comprehensive solution to the Syrian crisis," said Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi in a statement on the official website of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, as reported by Asia One, Monday (01/07/2013 ).

"President Assad plans include solutions that reject violence and terrorism and all forms of foreign intervention in his country, and includes a comprehensive political process," he added.

It is known that Iran is Syria's closest ally. Even Iran has provided economic and military aid to Syria's suggestion that during this prolonged conflict. In addition, Iran's President Assad seen as a 'bulwark' against Israel which became bitter rivals.

On Sunday (6/1), President Assad delivered his first speech in recent months. In a speech broadcast live on national television Syrian, Assad offers 'solution' which he said could end the conflict in Syria.

The solution includes invocation of the cessation of violence, dialogue with opposition groups that could be accepted, and vowed to combat groups called 'terrorists' and their foreign backers.

Against Assad bids, the opposition and Western countries including the United States (U.S.) immediately rejected. They even call the Assad offers are only intended to strengthen his control over Syria. Even Egyptian President Mohamed Morsi support the Syrian people's insistence that Syrian President Bashar al-Assad on trial for war crimes.

Syrian crisis that has lasted for 21 months, according to the UN, has claimed more than 60 thousand lives.
